Philosophy
Like any advisor and portfolio manager of clients’ financial assets, Charter Asset Management, LLC wants its clients to make money. After all, that’s the firm’s reason for being. But just as importantly, it doesn’t want to see its clients take unnecessary risks to do so. Achieving that delicate balance is a basic tenet of the firm’s investment philosophy.
That basic tenet, along with an anticipation that the money clients have entrusted to Charter Asset Management’s oversight is money they’re going to have to live on - perhaps for many years - helps maintain a prudent advisory approach which characterizes the firm’s investment philosophy. And while it won’t guarantee that investment losses don’t occur, a prudent investment strategy can pursue a balance of risk and reward that focuses on avoiding unnecessary risks as well as on generating positive returns for clients. The objective is to see clients rewarded for prudent, well-reasoned investment decisions regarding their financial assets.
As with any investment strategy, it is important to review the potential risks and rewards with each client to determine its appropriateness for them prior to implementation. Charter Asset Management believes its investment philosophy and associated strategies are probably best suited to a longer-term investment program. While shorter-term oriented strategies can potentially be integrated when and if appropriate, the firm believes that discipline, patience, and time are key to consistent success in the financial markets.
